Have you read your manual and can't seem to figure out how to thread the lower portion your SP-3201? Are the instructions not enough? Does your machine keep bunching up and jamming? Follow along with this pictorial on how to thread you machine!
STEP 1:
Once your bobbin is wound, you want to ensure the thread is coming off of it counter clockwise.
STEP 2:
Insert bobbin into the machine.
STEP 3:
As you unwind your bobbin (counter clockwise) You are going to slip the thread under the black plastic where the arrow is. ***NOTE: Thread needs to be slipped into metal slit in machine (See photo) Just guiding it through the plastic alone will cause many machine issues!
If you look right over top of the needle plate, you may be able to see the "slit" I am referring too:
Here is a photo as if I had taken out the bobbin and looked from behind the machine. Notice the slit:
STEP 4:
Follow the guidelines provided:
STEP 5:
Return clear cover plate. Ensure you insert the tab to the left of the cover plate first and slip it under the metal guide. Then click in the right side:
STEP 6:
While holding the upper thread with your left hand, turn the hand wheel towards you in one rotation to bring up the bottom thread.
If you have threaded it correctly, you will see the thread laying over the bobbin. Below is a photo of what it looks like without the clear cover on. Do not sew with out the clear cover on. I only removed it to show how the thread should be laying.
If your thread does not look like the photo, go back and check to see if the thread went through the "slit" I referred to earlier. Of course, you can always call and someone would be happy to walk you through threading the bottom!
Happy Sewing!!
